It has previously been reported that the Owls had shown an interest in the towering central defender, but The Star understands that things are looking unlikely as things stand – though their interest is genuine, and things can change rapidly before October 16th.
Wednesday currently have a number of centre backs on their books, but recent injuries to Dominic Iorfa, Tom Lees and Liam Shaw have left them a bit short in that department, while Iorfa is reportedly a target for Watford amongst others.

The former Swindon Town and Middlesbrough man is clearly a passionate football man, and – age aside – would fit the profile that Monk has been looking for at Hillsborough.
Speaking to ‘The Exiled Robin’ website earlier this year, Flint said, “Football is my hobby, like the vast majority of fans across the world. My hobby has turned into my job and I’m living my dream. You have to do what is right for you personally and your family at some point. Football is a very short career, and it could end at any point and age eventually defeats us all.
"My dream was to be a professional footballer, and I have lived that dream. My new dream is to make an appearance in the Premier League. Time maybe running out, but if I make it then I couldn’t have asked for anything else. If not then so be it. I want to carry on playing football until I can’t anymore.

The transfer window will close at 5pm on Friday evening, and it remains to be seen whether the Owls make any progress on Flint, though the length of his contract (which expires in 2022) means that a substantial transfer fee could be required.
