The Telegraph are reporting that Derby are ‘scrapping negotiations’ with the Spaniard and are now pushing forward ith an American consortium.
Alonso had previously made a bid to buy Wednesday, offering £30 million, alongside what are understood to have been Indonesian backers, but the offer was rebuffed by Owls chairman Dejphon Chansiri.

Hide AdHe then moved on to Derby and it appeared as though Alonso was about to be successful in this attempt.
However, there had always been concerns over his ability to come up with the cash and indeed this week he posted a video on social media showing a luxurious house presumably to flaunt his wealth, which it was proven to have been taken from the tiktok account of an American estate agent.
Alonso subseqently deleted the post and his account and claimed he had been hacked.
Now, it looks as though we may have seen the last of the man who once claimed his reputation would be damaged by continuing to work for Sheffield Wednesday.

Hide AdHe said after leaving his role at the Owls: “Unfortunately, due to forces around the club it became untenable to continue especially as the chances of my reputation being affected became apparent.
"Should things change at the club then I would be more than happy to return and bring all the force I have to restore it to where the club should be in the Premier League.”
