Chesterfield not to blame for injury set-backs says defender who lost seven months of his career
The veteran centre-half picked up a knock last December that was expected to keep him out for a few weeks.
But after 27 appearances in the first half of the 2015/16 campaign, he didn’t feature at all in the second half, a trip to a specialist in February revealing the true extent of the injury.

Hide AdIt’s obvious the 34-year-old is still frustrated about the situation, especially when it was followed by complicated and disappointing set-backs for fellow injury victims Liam O’Neil and Dan Jones.
But he’s quick to point out that no one at Chesterfield was to blame.
“I had an injury in December that was probably a six-week injury that cost me six to seven months of my career,” he said.
“The club are very good with us, sending us to see the best specialists but when they get it wrong you haven’t got much chance.

Hide Ad“That hasn’t gone in our favour, Roger Wylde has sent us to these top guys and sometimes they’ve got it wrong.
“It’s important to find the right people and stick to them.
“No one at the club is at fault, they’ve done their best to send us to the best guys, it’s just bad luck.”
Evatt says he’s back to full fitness now after playing at between 60 and 70 per cent fitness and undergoing an injection in his hip recently.
