Sheffield to be hit by THREE DAYS of snow – and it could start snowing tomorrow

The Weather Channel anticipates that snowflakes will start to come down in Sheffield tomorrow (Thursday, December 3) as part of snow and rain showers which are expected from 4pm.
Snow is forecast to fall until morning on Saturday, December 5 after days of a mixture of rain and the white stuff sprinkling over the city.

Hide AdCold temperatures are expected on Thursday with lows of 3c to a high of 4c – from 4pm to 11pm there is a 60 per cent to 35 per cent chance of snowfall.
On Friday, a mixture of snow and rain showers are also forecast with the white stuff set to fall from 0.00am until 9am – with low temperatures of 2c.
Snow will continue on Saturday alongside wet weather with highs of 4c and temperatures getting as low as 1c.
There are hopes that an ‘Arctic blast’ could hit the UK at the end of this month, meaning we could experience a rare White Christmas, according to some reports.

Hide AdA spokesperson for the Met Office added: “At the moment the UK is almost four weeks away from Christmas so we are unable to give any detailed forecast at this stage.
"But, our latest forecast does currently suggest that during the later stages of December it is looking more likely to be unsettled.”
Yesterday, (Tuesday, December 1) marked the first official day of meteorological winter, and with it has come colder conditions and forecasts of snow and icy conditions in some places.
The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for snow and ice in Scotland for today and Thursday as it is set to get “a taste of winter,” according to meteorologist Bonnie Diamond.

Hide AdAcross the UK, temperatures reached 7c to 9c on Tuesday making it a “crisp, clear, chilly winter’s day” for most on December 1, according to Ms Diamond.
The Met Office described yesterday as “a fine start” to December for many people and said that southern and eastern areas would continue to see plenty of afternoon sunshine.
