A man working away from his van returned to the vehicle to find that a Stihl saw had been stolen from it while it was parked on a Sheffield street.

The thief responsible struck in Eckington Road, Beighton.

Police officers in Sheffield are also investigating thefts from vehicles parked in Lowedges Place, Lowedges; Kenwood Road, Nether Edge; Meadowhead in Meadowhead; Bramall Lane; Highfield and Bagshot Street, Sharrow.

Other cars have been broken into in Bannerdale Road, Carterknowle; Napier Street, Sharrow and Shoreham Street, Highfield.
