But it appears one unhappy recipient in South Yorkshire was so upset they didn’t even wait till that afternoon to return a package via the post.

In total, 419 parcels were returned on Christmas Day through the Collect+ service at local convenience stores across the UK, with some customers returning more than one item.
While it is not known whether all those parcels were unwanted gifts, it is likely that at least some were being returned by disappointed recipients.
There were hundreds of potentially happier customers who collected parcels on the big day, with 1,043 packages being picked up from convenience stores which were open on Christmas Day.

"Collect+ has transformed services in communities to ensure that people can receive gifts and parcels at nearby collection points, while also offering a way for those who weren't overjoyed at what Santa brought them to return their presents."
