A power cut hit 80 homes in Sheffield on Tuesday morning and forced a Sheffield primary school to close for the day.
The Northern Powergrid said there has been an ‘unexpected problem with the electricity cable’ that serves Firshill Close in Pitsmoor.
Staff at nearby Abbeyfield Primary Academy were also told that the school would be shut for the day as a result.
The Star has contacted the primary school for a comment.
The power cut was reported at 11.30pm last night and is not due to be resolved until about 10am this morning.
