Major Sheffield road closed after fire breaks out at chip shop

Firefighters were called out to the Phoenix Fish Bar on Chesterfield Road in Woodseats at around 4.40pm this aftternoon.

Three appliances are currently in attendance at the blaze and the road is closed in both directions.

However, the South Yorkshire Fire and Recsue service say no one is trapped in the building and no one is believed to have been injured.

A spokesperson said that the fire’s cause would have to be investigated.
