Investigation into Sheffield building fire underway as casualty remains in 'serious condition'

A spokesperson from South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: "We don't have casualty details, but I know they are in a serious condition.
"The investigations into the incident are underway and we should have more updates tomorrow."

Hide AdSeven fire engines were deployed to a serious fire involving premises on Chesterfield Road, Heeley at around 10.30 on Sunday (February 7).
In a statement, the fire service said the fire is thought to have started at a row of shops which also has residential flats above.
The blaze involves a terraced building with Milan's pizza takeaway shop on the ground floor and flats above.
Later on a Facebook post, the pizza takeaway said that the fire was in the building next door to them.

The owners have been contacted for more information.
The incident has forced the road to be taped off as the emergency services dealt with the fire.
A large number of fire appliances were at the scene and there was also a police presence.
Air ambulance was also deployed to the scene.
An eyewitness said he saw a family with young children wrapped in blankets stood in the street as firefighters tackled the blaze

Hide AdThe family is believed to have been evacuated from the terraced street, made up of a number of shops and homes, as a precaution.
