Inquest into death of teenage kickboxer from Sheffield to be held today

An inquest is to be held today into the death of a teenage kickboxer from Sheffield who died after falling ill during a fight.

Scott Marsden, aged 14, from, Malin Bridge, died in March 2017 after falling ill during a national kickboxing title fight in Leeds.

The talented teen was one of the sport’s most highly-rated prospects.

His fight was stopped for the youngster to receive medical treatment at the scene and he was rushed to hospital but died a few days later with his family at his side.

Scott, who attended Forge Valley School, Stannington, trained at Marsden's All Styles (MAS) Kickboxing Club in Hillsborough.
