Family of teenage murder victim pay tribute to much loved daughter and sister ahead of funeral

The heartbroken family of a teenage girl stabbed to death in Rotherham have paid tribute to her on the day of her funeral.

Leonne Weeks, aged 16, who was a twin, was killed close to her home in Dinnington last month.

She was found with multiple stab wounds on a path just off Lordens Hill on Monday, January 16.

Her funeral is to be held in Dinnington this afternoon.

In a statement released this morning, her family said: “Today, we are laying our beautiful daughter Leonne to rest and celebrating her life with family and friends.

“She is loved and sadly missed by all her family.

"Leonne was a twin and was close to all of her brothers and sisters.

“We are grateful for the ongoing support shown by the community and other groups which have links to the family."

Shea Peter Heeley, 18, of Doe Quarry Lane, Dinnington, is charged with murder.
