A suspect is due in court in Sheffield today after a man was stabbed in his neck.

Matthew Liversidge, aged 32, of Town Lane, Rotherham, is accused of stabbing another man in his neck in an attack on Sunday, May 9.

Emergency services were called to Churchill Avenue, Maltby, at around 11am and found a 30-year-old man with a knife wound to his neck.

He remains in hospital after surgery.

Liversidge is accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a bladed article.
