Police officers have seized 14 dogs and puppies from a house in Doncaster following concerns that they were being ‘mistreated’.

Officers and RSPCA officials seized the 12 dogs and two pups from a house in Hyde Park yesterday.

South Yorkshire Police said the joint operation to seize the dogs formed part of an RSPCA investigation into alleged mistreatment, but no other details have yet been released.

The force said: “A dog is for life, not just for Christmas.”
