A 29-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after he was hit by a car in a Sheffield suburb on Tuesday evening (January 7).

South Yorkshire Police said emergency services were called to Burncross Road in Chapeltown at about 5.40pm last night, following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

The police spokeswoman said: "The pedestrian, a 29-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment.”

She however said his injuries were not life-threatening.
