Killer Ben Jones to learn his fate after stabbing Jordan Marples-Douglas in his Sheffield home

Ben Jones, aged 26 and formerly of Archdale Road, Manor, killed 23-year-old Jordan Marples-Douglas in a knife attack in March last year.
Jordan, who lived in Woodthorpe with his partner and step-daughter, was home alone when Jones struck.

Hide AdIt was claimed that Jordan, a life-long Sheffield United fan and season ticket holder, was killed as a result of a drug debt which Jones and another man were seeking to enforce.
Jones denied being an enforcer but accepted he was guilty of manslaughter after throwing a punch which started a fracas during which Jordan was stabbed.
Jones, who was convicted of murder, denied realising that Jordan had been stabbed.
Jurors were told that another man had been with Jones on the night of the attack but he had since left the country.

Hide AdThat man’s partner, Dina Aweimrin, 22, of Oakdale Road, Nether Edge, is to be sentenced today after being found guilty of assisting an offender on the basis that she helped him flee the country.
She booked him a flight to Dubai the day after the murder, then using her card at Dubai airport he flew to Somalia.
In a tribute paid to Jordan to mark the anniversary of his death, his partner said they had long-term plans to marry and have children together.
Jordan, a painter and decorator, was a devoted step-dad to her daughter.
She said at the time: “I hope he knew how loved he was.”
