Hide AdJudge Jeremy Richardson QC, The Recorder of Sheffield, told Hewitt: “I remind myself of the reason you commit these crimes one after the other. And you are a prolific criminal.
"In many respects it’s because you are hopelessly addicted, or you were, to class A drugs.”
He added: “In a sense, I am throwing you a lifeline. Please, if you have any sense grab that lifeline and start pulling away from class A drugs and get the professional help you need.”
Judge Richardson sentenced Hewitt to eight months of custody having reduced the possibe sentence due to the circumstances surrounding his struggle with drugs.
