A 12-year-old boy was injured in a drive-by shooting on Northern Avenue on Sunday, January 12 and in the wake of the attack the estate has been flooded by officers.
Four arrests have been made over the shooting and a number of other arrests have also been made in a crime blitz in Arbourthorne, Manor and Heeley as officers attempt to disrupt organised crime groups.
Police chiefs have vowed to continue stop and search checks on the estate for the foreseeable future and armed officers are among those involved in extra police patrols mounted since the shooting.
