A CHESTERFIELD man was crushed to death after his skip lorry overturned and landed on him.
The 37-year-old skip lorry driver, from Walton, who has not yet been formally identified, was unloading a skip at Addis Scaffolding Ltd on Markham Lane, Duckmanton, when his lorry toppled onto its side.
Firefighters from Staveley lifted the lorry
from him but his life could not be saved.
The man, who worked for CP Skips, died at around 11.30am on Tuesday.
The Health and SAfety Executive is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said: "A 37-year-old man from Walton was working as a driver for CP Skips and was unloading a skip from the back of a lorry when the lorry toppled over and crushed him.
"The case has been handed over to the Health and Safety Executive."
CP Skips has refused to comment.
The incident comes just days after Alan Lee Robert Winters, 28, died during an accident at his place of work - the DavyMarkham engineering plant on Prince of Wales Road, Darnall.
The Health and Safety Executive is investigating after he got trapped in a six-inch gap between the top of a forklift truck and the roof of a metal container on Tuesday July 15.
