Hide AdJake and Caitlin, who is from Alfreton, are expected to have the three boys delivered via a planned Caesarean section at 32 weeks, which is required to protect the mum.
Jake said Caitlin is in hospital for scans and check ups every two weeks due to carrying triplets being categorised as as high risk, but they have continued to pass each step of their journey and will soon be discussing with doctors when they will operate to bring the boys into the world.
Speaking to The Star about when they discovered they were expecting triplets, Jake said: “It was a bit of a weird one as it was my birthday that day, but the nurse had to get a second opinion as she thought she could see more than one and so we were like ‘oh it’s two that’s amazing’ but then the second opinion confirmed they could see three.
“We’ve made a few changes to our preparations, so I’ve got a new job and we have had to get a new car,” he added.
Caitlin will be 32 weeks pregnant on August 23.
