A major bank in Sheffield city centre has been closed for days due to a water leak - and cannot say when it will reopen.

Customers attempting to visit Santander on Fargate have found the doors locked this week, although the lights are on. Posters in the windows state it is closed for safety reasons.

A Santander spokeswoman said the branch suffered a water leak ‘causing significant damage’ on Friday, November 18.

She added: “We hope to be able to open the branch over the coming days.”
