Darren Ferguson admits he faces a big decision over his strike force heading into Saturday's clash with Accrington Stanley '“ all thanks to Alfie May.

The striker came off the bench to net his first goal for Rovers – and his first in professional football – to help rescue a point against promotion rivals Luton Town.

With Andy Williams having not scored since Boxing Day and John Marquis failing to find the net in his last three games, Ferguson hinted he may be ready to hand May his first start for the club.

“He’s given me a big decision to make this week,” Ferguson said. “There’s no question about that.

“Alfie is 100 per cent ready to start.

“I’ve had tough decisions not chucking him in because John has been outstanding this season. We’ve got to be careful that John doesn’t carry us too much.

“Willo has been good, technically good, but he’s just not been scoring goals.
