Rotherham police: CCTV appeal over alleged rape of teenage girl on Eastwood Playing Fields

Police have launched a CCTV appeal after a teenage girl was allegedly raped while walking through a playing field in South Yorkshire.

The girl was reportedly walking with a group of friends through Eastwood Playing Fields, off Eldon Road and Hardwicke Road, in the Eastwood area of Rotherham, when she was raped on Thursday, July 6, at around 9pm.

Police said enquiries are ongoing but detectives are keen to identify the man pictured in this CCTV image as they believe he may be able to assist with their enquiries. The man is described as white, around 18-20 years old, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, of medium build, and with short brown hair in a ‘back and sides’ haircut. It is believed he was wearing a plain grey hoody and blue jogging bottoms with stripes down the leg, and white trainers.

Anyone who recognises the man pictured or has any information is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 1121 of July 6.
