£45,000 is raised by the city's big run
The 13.1 mile race, held in May, has benefited eight nominated charities and the runners who made it happen were honoured at a ceremony attended by the Lord Mayor Coun Arthur Dunworth.
The money was split between the RSPCA Sheffield, Macmillan Cancer Support, Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre South Yorkshire, Sheffield Wildlife Trust, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind, Help a Hallam Child, and the Myasthenia Gravis Associa-tion.

Hide AdGary Clifton, Sheffield Council's major sports event unit manager, was awarded the Man of Steel trophy for his contribution to the organisation of the event.
Anthony Kiernan, of Forres Road, Crookes, was honoured for raising the most money - a total of 1,444 - while Sheffield High School picked up an award for the biggest group sponsorship raisers after collecting 1,139.50.
