And one of the links that would appear to have at least a little legs in it is that of Cheltenham Town centre-half Will Boyle

Will Boyle is a Yorkshire-born 25-year-old centre-half with a burgeoning reputation. He’s currently Cheltenham Town’s longest-serving player and enjoyed a stellar season in their League Two title-winning campaign.
Strong in the air, the six-foot-three defender fleetingly spent time in the Scotland youth ranks, for whom he qualified through his father’s nationality.
Reports suggest he is well liked by a handful of clubs, including Wednesday and Championship Preston North End.
Where’s he played?
Starting life as a professional footballer at Huddersfield Town, Boyle didn’t quite make the grade and move to Cheltenham in 2017.

Before that point he enjoyed short loan spells at Kidderminster Harriers, Macclesfield Town, York City and Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership shortly before impressing enough to have the Robins come in for him.
What’s his pedigree?
He’s highly thought of and has become a mainstay in the Cheltenham side.
Despite a knee injury having ended his season over Easter, he was named in the League Two team of the year last season as they were promoted to League One as champions.

It’s one that would make a lot of sense, though Boyle, whose contract in Gloucestershire doesn’t expire until the end of next season, would cost Wednesday a fee.
He has experience of playing in a back three should Moore want to have that option and has improved on the ball in recent seasons.
A commanding presence, he could offer something Wednesday have lacked and a move to a club of that size could bring the best out of him.
