Waldock turned 20 earlier this year, and is another player from the Owls’ youth academy who has managed to get a few senior minutes under his belt over the last couple of seasons.
The midfielder hasn’t made any Wednesday squads under new manager, Tony Pulis, but did put in an accomplished performance for the Owls in the Carabao Cup against Fulham earlier in the season.

Hide AdAs the Owls reach the midway point of the 2020/21 season, it is thought that Waldock will soon enter into the last six months of his current deal, however The Star understands that the club do have an option to extend by one more year.
It is believed that Waldock, a lifelong Wednesdayite himself, is very much happy to remain at Hillsborough beyond the current campaign, and it’s likely that the club will exercise their option on him at some stage in the coming months.
Waldock is one of several youth products who will be out of contract in July as things stand, with others such as Alex Hunt, Liam Shaw, Matt Penney and Osaze Urhoghide among those whose futures are unknown at this stage.
With Hunt, like Waldock, Wednesday do have an option to renew that they can exercise, while The Star has previously reported that the club are keen to tie down Shaw onto a new deal as well.
