Sheffield Wednesday’s missing accounts – Dejphon Chansiri’s latest comments

The Owls took up the offer of a COVID-prompted Government extension regarding the submitting of their accounts to Companies House, but – with the club fighting a battle with the EFL, and unsure of which year their sale of Hillsborough should fall under – they’re still overdue.
In his last press briefing, Chansiri told the media that it was a matter that would be dealt with shortly, however two months down the line there’s still no sign of them having been submitted at this stage.

Hide AdWhen asked about the situation regarding the accounts today, the SWFC chairman said, “Because of the COVID situation, it’s a little bit of a process. We’ve already finished, and in the last meeting I told somebody it would be soon - because that’s what I expected… But it will be released soon.
“Frankly speaking, I actually want to release the accounts… Because it’s good for the club. But it’s something that’s out of my control, but it’ll be soon.”
Like many businesses, Wednesday are battling with the lack of revenue and other complications that have come with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with fans worried no doubt worried about the prospect of another embargo.
Chansiri did say, though, that the club will be fine for the immediate future once the next accounts are eventually submitted, adding, “I will try to make this better, don’t worry… I’m going to try so that it doesn’t happen again.”
The deadline for account submission was July 31st.
