It's been a busy week for the Owls off the field too, with the Star confirming reports that the club were subject of a takeover bid, thought to be in the region of £30m, from Dejphon Chansiri's former adviser Erik Alonso - an offer which was rejected.
When quizzed on the bid, Wednesday's caretaker boss Neil Thompson insisted: “[The takeover bid] is nothing to do with me. When that ball starts rolling, it’s football. It’s what we do, you’ve still got a game to play whatever’s happening.
"So that doesn’t concern me, and I’m sure it doesn’t concern the players.”
Indeed, the Owls will be fully focused on the weekend ahead, when they take on promotion-chasers Swansea City at Hillsborough on Saturday afternoon.
The Welsh side were knocked out of the FA Cup fifth round by Manchester City last night, and Wednesday will be looking to exploit their tired legs when the two sides come face-to-face at S6.
