Reports in Scotland earlier this month suggested that Aberdeen striker Sam Cosgrove had been the subject of a bid from the Owls, whose desire to add firepower to their attack is well documented.
But the 22-year-old was unveiled as a Birmingham City player this evening in what has been reported as a £2m deal.

“It feels really good to be here,” Cosgrove said. “As soon as the interest was there from Birmingham it was a no brainer from me and I'm really delighted to get it over the line.
“There's a big job for me to do here. I'm looking forward to playing in the Championship. I know how demanding it is but I wouldn't be here if I didn't think I was ready to take on the challenge. Short-term, it's helping the team. Long-term it's echoing that - being as successful as I can and helping this fantastic Club.”
Wednesday have brought free agents Andre Green and Sam Hutchinson into the squad in the window so far. The club have traditionally been active on deadline days and speaking after their 1-0 win over Preston on Saturday, caretaker manager Neil Thompson said the club were hopeful of getting further business done.

“All you concentrate on is what pool of players you have for a particular game and that's all you can do. You can't control anything else. All you can focus on is the players you have and I thought we did a reasonable job.”
