Middlesbrough v Sheffield Wednesday LIVE: Owls lose but hope remains (somehow)
Key Events
- Wednesday won last time out against Blackburn Rovers
- A defeat, and a win for Derby, would send them down
- The Owls will be without Darren Moore once again
Work to do on the training ground
It will be nice not to have the game midweek to have a full week’s preparation.
On Andre Green
In patches he was very good. You see his strengths from the penalty, that’s what we want to do. He showed his quality from the penalty. He showed in training he was ready, its just bringing those qualities to the table.
On Tom Lees
Potentially (out for the season). I don’t know for definite. He’s been to hospital and had an x-ray. There’s no fracture or break. But the extent, I’m not sure. I don’t think it affected us in a negative way. We were positive on the front foot.
Conceding from set-plays
Generally we’ve been good, well organised, today for some reason it wasn’t like that.
James Smith on today’s performance
Obviously disappointed with the result. Disappointed with the goals conceded. lack of concentration cost us.
All over - Boro 3 Owls 1
They were rubbish, but thanks to other teams being just as bad, Wednesday are still not down. Boro didn’t have to play well to get this win, the goals given away easily and the Owls are going to have to up their game again for the next one against Forest.
