Injuries and setups - Darren Moore won’t stick to one formation at Sheffield Wednesday and is more than prepared to change personnel

Moore switched the Owls to a 4-2-3-1 formation for his first two games in charge at the club, but then raised some eyebrows when he opted to revert to a 3-5-2 against table-topping Norwich City at Hillsborough.
Ultimately the Canaries had too much quality for Wednesday as they went on to win 2-1, but Moore insists that he’ll continue to change things up when he feels it’s the right thing to do.

Hide AdSpeaking to the media after the defeat, Moore said, “We have different opponents coming, and different systems… As and when we see fit to change the system, we’ll change the system - or the personnel.
“What we are trying to work towards is getting wins. We need a win to get this going, and I feel if we get that win then we’ll get momentum.
“The players have felt a difference in terms of the training and what we’re trying to apply here, and credit every single one of them for going about their business in the right manner.
“They went toe-to-toe with the league leaders, but it’s the small details that have done us - and not just today. We have to maintain focus.”

He told The Star, “Andre is back in, he’s working and so it’s great to have him back. With Joost, we’ll look at him in the week – he’s back on the grass which is a great thing, and when those bodies return then it’s great for us because we’re going to need them for the run-in.”
Wednesday welcomed Keiren Westwood back against Norwich as their injury concerns were reduced, however Chey Dunkley has picked up a knock that could keep him out of action for this week’s games against Huddersfield Town and Barnsley.
