If that were the case and no points deduction were to occur, the Owls would finish in 15th place, eight points short of the play-off place that they had set out to grab at the start of the season.
But if it were all to end right now, who would walk away with the player of the year award?

Dominic Iorfa
If truth be told, few knew truly what to make of the 24-year-old heading into this season.
But he’s been one of the Owls best performers this time out, settled in the heart of the defence and a match for most forwards he’s come up against this season.
Those lapses in concentration may have crept in from time to time in more recent weeks, but Iorfa has positioned himself as Wednesday’s most valuable commodity. Probably by some distance.
Steven Fletcher

Hide AdTop scorer, talisman, senior pro. Fletcher is Wednesday’s most important player, as their form during his eight-week absence at the turn of the year would testify.
He’s claimed 13 goals this season and has led the line heroically at times.
Were it not for that injury he’d surely be a shoo-in for this one.
Morgan Fox
Fox has been on quite a journey this season.
Booed by his own supporters early doors, his importance to the side has been highlighted by Monk and, like Fletcher, his absence was keenly felt when injured.

Verdict
It’s a tough one. As alluded to above, Fletcher would be an easy choice if it weren’t for that long lay-off but is still among the front-runners.
Iorfa would have been another easy choice at stages of the season, but I’ll plump for Fox – just – on the basis that he’s been the most consistent.
