Former Wednesday striker Clinton Morrison, who played 54 league matches for the Hillsborough side between 2010 and 2012, said on Sky Sports: “It’s a big performance for where Sheffield Wednesday are and the way they’ve been playing.
“It was ruthless. Sheffield Wednesday have been creating chances and they haven’t been clinical enough. Today they were clinical and some of the goals were breathtaking.
“There were two or three goals of the season for Wednesday tonight.”

Hide AdBannan was instrumental in controlling a match in which his side scored with five of their six shots on target.
“He’s one of the best in the Championship,” Morrison said. “If you give him time and space in midfield, he’s like a little magician.
“He sees passes, and he has a little burst of pace as well. He might not be the quickest over 60 or 70 yards, but he can burst over five years. And that’s why Garry [Monk] made him captain, because he’s a leader with performances and the way he speaks as well.
“It was an outstanding performance from Barry Bannan.”
