The centre-half made 10 interceptions yesterday, has made a club-high 32 clearances this season and so far won almost 70 per cent of his aerial duels.
So it’s reasonable to think that he may well have had an impact as the cross came in for Macauley Bonne’s injury time equaliser for QPR over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Speaking after the game, Monk said: “I couldn’t have asked for anymore. They ran their socks off.
“It was a really unfortunate situation that I think was more circumstantial, being down to 10 men. We couldn’t get any pressure on the ball where maybe we could have with that extra man and where they scored the goal from we would have had Tom.”
Asked whether there had been a conversation over whether Lees could stay on the field for the final seconds, Monk suggested that the 29-year-old had wanted to, but the assessment of the medical team was paramount.

“Rather than risking something a lot more serious or making it worse, the decision was made to have a reshuffle. Callum had to go back there.
“It is what it is, we’ll take the big things out of it, that spirit and that fight. I couldn’t ask for any more than what they gave today.”
