The Newcastle-owned speedster has so far led a nomadic career and has been the Owls’ stand-out attacking player since the turn of the year.
He netted his seventh goal of the season in Saturday’s win at QPR, taking him to within two goals of his career-best tally.

Hide AdThere has been much talk of Murphy’s recovery from a mixed start to life in South Yorkshire and whether another loan move next season might be a possibility.
The former Norwich man, signed for around £10m by the Magpies in 2017, has confirmed his desire to regain his place in the Newcastle first team but it is understood that should they choose to loan him out again, Wednesday and Monk are in pole position to bring him back to Hillsborough.
“I've been delighted with him,” Monk said.
“I've said if there is an opportunity to bring him back next year, we don't know yet because we're not even concentrating on that, but if there was then he's the type of player I want to work with.
“He's improving and has improved throughout the season.
“If the opportunity is there [to bring him back] then yes, but we want to concentrate on these games and then take care of that side of it afterwards.”

The Owls boss said he built a programme for the winger to work on based around increasing his aggression both in defence and attack.
“Credit to Garry Monk, he has changed my mentality, he has helped me a lot,” Murphy said.
“When we have meetings, he sends powerful messages, and they have sunk in. He gets me to see things from a different perspective. From him being here it has given me more of a hunger and fire in the belly. Every day I just want to work, work, work, I am starving to succeed.”
