Things need to be turned around for the Owls as they go up against a side that are yet to win a single game so far this season, and our man Joe Crann has picked his starting XI to get the job done down South tomorrow afternoon… There’s a couple of big returns that he’s hoping for, as well as possibly a surprise selection up top.
1. GK - Joe Wildsmith
Cameron Dawson will not have been happy with his performance against Rotherham United after a number of errors, and it feels like if there was ever a time for Wildsmith to get a chance to stake his claim for the number one spot then this would be it. Feels like Dawson may even need it in terms of protecting him after some of the fan backlash. Photo: Steve Ellis
2. RCB - Liam Palmer
Very much a needs must situation in terms of the shortage of centre backs to be honest, but I've been pretty impressed with Palmer when he's played as an RCB for the most part. As a Wednesdayite himself, he'll know just how important it is to turn things around at Wycombe. Photo: Steve Ellis
3. CB - Dominic Iorfa
Wednesday need Big Dom back, it's as simple as that. The defence hasn't looked the same since he's not been in it, and the fact that he was talking so avidly about wanting to get back out there suggests that he's probably in with a shout this weekend. Would be a huge boost to have him available, and if he's fit, he starts, in my opinion. Photo: Steve Ellis
4. LCB - Julian Börner
Börner didn't cover himself in glory against Rotherham, but he's the only left-sided centre back in the side after Van Aken's suspension. As one of only two centre halves that we know are definitely fit, I'd be expected him to start. Photo: via @swfcofficial
