The flashpoint was a late challenge from Ethan Ampadu on Marcus Rashford, which took place just in front of the dugouts. Ampadu was already on a booking and the Blades were looking to rescue a late point, after going 1-0 ahead.
Wilder and his opposite number exchanged a few words, but embraced at full-time as Wilder uttered a few words to the Norwegian behind his hand.

"It’s one of these games that these boys will learn from. It's a proper game and like football should be.“I apologise. I maybe went overboard with a word. We'll have a drink afterwards."
United went ahead thanks to David McGoldrick’s opener, after a mistake from former United loanee Dean Henderson, but the Red Devils hit back to lead 3-1 thanks to a brace from Marcus Rashford and a strike from Anthony Martial. McGoldrick pulled one back later on but the Blades couldn’t draw level, despite Lys Mousset forcing a good save from Dean Henderson late in the game.
Wilder added: “It's an emotional game and we're all there, Ole accepts that. He's played his football under the best manager this country's ever seen, in my opinion, so he understands we were going to be aggressive.
"And that's OK.

I'm just disappointed we had 32,000 here last season, going into the last five or 10 minutes of this game our supporters would have given us a lift. But it wasn't to be, and Man United get three points and I wish them all the best.”
