"Mitchell is staying at the club," McCann said.

McCann admits he has been impressed with the 21-year-old in training and feels he is capable of the high energy work he demands of his full backs.
He said: "I like his attitude, the way he comes in every day with a smile on his face.
"He's been good.
"I thought he was good again at Frickley, his energy to get up and down the pitch.
"He's rewarded a very good performance with a goal."

Hide AdRovers lined up a club for Mandeville to join but the striker and his representative rejected the move in favour of finding something else.
McCann says both Mandeville and Garratt would struggle for game time if they were to remain with Rovers and feels it is best for them to move on at this stage of their careers.
"I was honest with Liam in saying I'm going to bring in maybe two more at the top end of the pitch," McCann said.
"So playing time is going to be limited for him.
"The last thing he wants is to not be playing and sitting in the stands.
"Liam was fine with that.

"We have got somewhere for him but his agent seems to think he can get him somewhere better, which agents do.
"So we'll leave it with him for a few days."
He added: "I was honest with Tyler in that the two Dannys, Danny Andrew and Danny Amos are ahead of him.
"He needs to play. It's the same sort of situation as Liam.
"We need to get Tyler a club. He's played a lot of games at this level so he's perfect for someone if they're looking for a left back.
"We will do all we can to help him find that club."
