The yellow warning for the very windy weather is forecast to batter parts of England, Wales and the far south of Scotland, leading to disruption to transport and utilities.
The Met Office said an area of strong southwesterly winds will develop across parts of northern England and the far south of Scotland on Saturday afternoon before transferring southeast wards across the rest of England and Wales into Sunday morning.
However, this should clear by early Sunday afternoon.

Hide AdMeanwhile, inland gusts of 50-60mph are likely, with the potential for 60-70mph in some locations.
It added: "Hills and coasts are exposed to the southwesterly winds could see gusts of 70-80mph. In addition to the strong winds, a period of heavy, squally rain will affect western and southern areas.
"Combined with strong winds, the rain will lead to some hazardous travelling conditions."
The Met Office also said that Sheffield will have a cold and frosty start on Christmas Day and will have rain and strong winds spreading southeast beginning Saturday.
