Flooding causes more disruption on South Yorkshire's roads and railway

A number of roads are closed due to flooding after heavy rain yesterday and some train services are affected.

Hide AdTravel South Yorkshire, which coordinates public transport in the county, said service 11 has been diverted because of flooding at – Hartley Brook, Parson Cross, Sheffield.
Buses are being diverted via Deerlands Avenue and Wordsworth Avenue then resuming its normal route at Ecclesfield High Street.
The diversion is in place in both directions.
Bus company First South Yorkshire said its service 36 is diverted via Meadowhall in both directions because of flooding on Fife Street, Wincobank, Sheffield.

In Doncaster, flooding has led to the closure of Doncaster Road from Wellingley Lane, Wadworth Bar, to Dadsley Road, Tickhill.
Barnsley motorists have been warned to avoid New Road in Hemingfield, which is closed from Tingle Bridge Lane through to the Lions Lodge estate roundabout.
Ryton Road at Anston, Rotherham, is closed due to floodwater. Bus services have been diverted to avoid the road.

Hide AdAt 8am today, Train operator Northern said flooding at Kiveton Bridge and Kirk Sandall was causing delays and cancellations across South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Humberside.
The firm said services are likely to be affected for the rest of the day, though an earlier closure of the line at Kiveton Bridge has now been lifted.
Northern said: “Heavy rain has fallen on already waterlogged ground and flood waters have risen rapidly in the area.
“Northern has arranged rail replacement road transport for customers on those routes that have no services.”

Sheffield - Scarborough/Bridlington - services will terminate/start from Hull.
Doncaster - Hull – services will terminate/start at Goole. Road transport is in operation between Doncaster and Goole.
Sheffield - Hull/Beverley - services will terminate/start at Doncaster.

Doncaster - Sheffield - services will run as normal.
TransPennine Express services have been suspended between Sheffield and Scunthorpe. Customers may use CrossCountry between Sheffield and Doncaster.
