South Yorkshire Police seek witnesses after woman is hit by lorry after falling from bridge

The 46-year-old was struck on the M18 after falling from a bridge between Junction 2 for Wadworth, Doncaster and Junction 1 for Hellaby, Rotherham, yesterday afternoon.
South Yorkshire Police said the force received a number of reports of a woman spotted on the wrong side of the railings.

Hide AdShe was taken to the Northern General Hospital after the collision, where she remains in a critical condition.
South Yorkshire Police said wants to hear from witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage.
The force said: “Shortly after 4.40pm, police received numerous reports of a woman on the wrong side of the railings over the M18 southbound, between Junction 2 and Junction 1.“The woman is believed to have fallen from the bridge running over the motorway, Ruddle Lane, and collided with a Heavy Goods Vehicle in the carriageway.“The 46-year-old was transported to Northern General Hospital where she remains in a critical condition. Her family have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.“The southbound carriageway was closed until late last night to allow our investigation to take place.“We are now keen to hear from any motorists who were travelling on the M18 yesterday afternoon who witnessed the incident, or the woman prior. We are especially keen to hear from anyone with dash cam footage.”Call 101 and quote incident number 694 of July 11.
