Sheffield Eagles: Lions mauled by Aston's boys
Mark Aston’s side firmly put to bed the defeat to Batley last week by maintaining their 100 per cent home record, recovering from a slow start to eventually run out comfortable winners.
After withstanding an early barrage Aston’s side found their feet, running in nine tries in only their second outing on home soil at Bawtry Road.

The hosts moved through the gears when George Tyson showed a well disguised dummy before crashing over, but Knowles missed the extras.
Shortly after Jacks moved swiftly at the play of the ball to find Scott Wheeldon for a comfortable score and this time Knowles converted. The Eagles cemented their superiority before the break when Menzie Yere’s break was finished by Quentin Laulu-Togagae, and after the interval it was Yere’s turn to finish after a smart move, with Knowles converting both scores.
Shaun Robinson’s try for Swinton gave them hope but it was quickly extinguished. A free-flowing move involving Laulu-Togagae and Yere was finished by Cory Aston, with Knowles adding the two.
Aston Jnr was over again for his second try on the hour mark benefiting from good work by Mark Mexico, and Knowles again converted.

The Eagles were forced to put the game to rest as Blackmore’s second try with 10 minutes remaining secured the points, and despite a second score from Scott, the Eagles had the final say when Mitch Stringer barged over at the death.
