Sheffield artist designs cheese grater inspired by 'cheese grater' car park
Kim Kay, aged 43, won a competition to design a Sheffield souvenir with her cheese grater - which is a usable tribute to the 'cheese grater' car park on Charles Street.
The artist answered calls for a city souvenir as part of a Sheffield Design Week with her grater, which she hopes could now be put into production.

Hide AdKim, of Mosborough, said: "I’m delighted to win. At first when I had the cheese grater inspired cheese grater souvenir idea I thought it too obvious.
"But Sheffield is a city built on steel and so it had to be a steel souvenir.
"I’m hoping we can get the design into production and have this handy Sheffield souvenir in kitchens across the globe."
Kim's design features the cheese grater car park one one side, cutlery on another, the word 'Sheffield' on one and a depiction of the Winter Gardens on another.

Hide AdKim is now appealing to designers or businesses to collaborate with her to bring the design to life.
She said: "Anybody who could help me bring this design to the market can get in touch. The competition makes no plans to actually make this."
In January 2015, Kim suffered serious knee injury in a skiing accident which required two years of treatment.
The injury forced Kim to forego sport and her successful public relations career. Instead she began to explore a passion for art.

Kim, who moved to the city eight years ago, said: "Sheffield is a great place to live. The longer I am here, the more I like it.
"I would love to see this in kitchens."
