Royal race meeting set to return to Sheffield
Owlerton Greyhound Stadium will host the prestigious Queen Mother Memorial Cup on Sunday March 6.
The popular annual race, which attracts the country’s top greyhounds and trainers, started out as the Queen Mother Cup in 1998. After the Queen Mother’s passing, the stadium began staging it in her honour and the first Queen Mother Memorial Cup was held in 2003.

“It is humbling to receive a personal response from the Queen giving her blessing for the event to take place and we’re incredibly proud to be the only stadium in the country to be awarded such an honour.”
To celebrate the special occasion, admission to the stadium is free and Owlerton has put on a range of Mother’s Day packages.
For £20 per person, spectators can enjoy a three-course lunch in the acclaimed Panorama Restaurant, which overlooks the track, or a hot and cold buffet or three-course meal in an executive box.
