Range Rover driver jailed after inventing false name to 'wriggle out' of Sheffield speeding tickets
Nathan McIntosh tried to 'wriggle out' of responsibility for the tickets after being caught speeding in Sheffield, Manchester, Cambridgeshire, Gloucestershire and the West Midlands.
McIntosh tried to evade the punishments by providing false information to police, including an invented name and address.

Hide AdHowever, it didn't go according to plan as police launched a further investigation into his crimes.
The 33-year-old, who drove a white Range Rover with a personalised number plate, and a VW Scirrocco, had provided false information in response to the penalties.
PC Jason Dooley from West Midlands Police Camera Enforcement Unit said: “We became suspicious after becoming aware that a number of notices of intended prosecution (NIPs) had not been returned. On further investigation, it was revealed that McIntosh had provided false information in response to camera activations.
“During the period of a year, McIntosh travelled widely and activated cameras in Sheffield, Manchester, Cambridgeshire and Gloucestershire as well as in the West Midlands.

Hide Ad"It was clear to see that he thought he was above the law and that by providing an invented name and address, he could escape penalty points, fines and a possible disqualification from driving. This prison sentence just goes to show how wrong he was.”
McIntosh of Wolverhampton, pleaded guilty at the first hearing and was sentenced to 11 months in prison and disqualified from driving for four years.
