Princess takes the reins as suburb’s lights begin
More than 250 spectators looked on as Megan Davison, the Beighton Gala Princess, accompanied Father Christmas in his sleigh at the switching-on of the suburb’s festive lights.
A lantern parade from Reignhead Primary School to West Street, Beighton, took place and the Woodhouse Prize Band played carols before and after the illuminations were switched on. The lanterns were made by Reignhead pupils, helped by their grandparents, as part of the school’s ‘Grandparent Day’.
