During lockdown, the wardens were redeployed to other roles in the council, partly because there was much less traffic and partly to help with emergency aid work.
Data from the council shows the city is now back up to 68 per cent of normal traffic levels and it's expected to rise even further from Monday, June 15 when lockdown eases again.

Coun Bob Johnson, Cabinet member for transport, said: "The back office where wardens process their tickets was closed during lockdown but they have been working very hard in other departments.
"Some were deployed to tips to steward traffic and they have helped with emergency food parcel deliveries to people who are vulnerable and shielding so they have been quite active on the frontline.
"During lockdown, wardens have been giving polite warnings to people on some busy streets rather than enforcement notices but as we are gradually starting to come back out of lockdown and traffic is increasing, they will return to normal duties.

Free key worker parking in off-street council car parks, which has been provided since March, will come to an end on June 15, as the city centre reopens and non-essential businesses begin to trade again.
A free parking pass scheme provided by the council, put in place to support NHS staff and volunteers, and those working in the care sector will remain though.
