Sheffield Council approved plans for a new Aldi which will be built across from Sheffield Wednesday's stadium and up the road from a new Lidl, which was approved during the same planning meeting on January 28.
Planning permission for the £25 million scheme was granted by the highways and planning committee during a public meeting.

It will create up to 250 new jobs and include eight trade units for businesses, including a builders merchants, a vehicle repair garage and parking for 270 cars.
The new store will be in addition to the one on Flora Street, which Aldi says is massively overtrading with customers often struggling to find parking.
Lidl will set up shop at the bottom of Stannington Road in Malin Bridge.

David Sweeting, of Avison Young real estate, said at the meeting: "A new store in this location would improve access and shopping choice to residents of Stannington, Walkley, Loxley and Malin Bridge who currently need to travel to Hillsborough or further afield for food shopping.
An initial consultation on the Lidl prompted 72 complaints, while a second consultation saw a further 42 objections and 23 in support.
At the meeting, Leonie Wood of the Loxley Valley Protection Society, said: "What concerns most residents is this proposal will add significantly to the traffic congestion at this extremely oversubscribed junction.

Green Party councillor Peter Garbutt was the only member of the committee to vote against the plans.
He said: "I'm really concerned about the extra traffic, bringing even worse air quality to the area. I do understand there will be benefits from having a retail outlet there and it bringing 40 new jobs.”
