According to a planning application submitted to Rotherham Council, the existing extension to the rear of The Bluecoat pub, on The Crofts, would be demolished, to make way for a new, larger extension.
The new extension would make room for a ‘larger customer area and a larger kitchen to cater for the customer numbers’ at the popular venue.

The Grade II-listed building next to the Town Hall was opened as a charity school in 1708, and planners say that the new extension will compliment the historic heritage of the building, with the modern addition of steel framed construction.
If the council, the local planning authority, grants permission for the plans, five parking spaces will be lost in the extended customer area.
The plans, drawn up by Just H Architects for JD Wetherspoon, state: "The external works will only improve the aesthetic of the north-west façade, using a material palette which will only complement those of the asset.
