The working men’s social club was demolished in 2012, and was a target for vandalism, arson and anti-social behaviour before the building was knocked down.
If approved, the new development will be made up of a mix of two and three bedroom houses with private gardens, and 34 car parking spaces.

The development has been designed as an ‘outward looking community’, and the developers say the housing units have been design for the needs of residents and reflect the property style and values in the local area.
The area is currently made up of scrubland, and is of mixed brownfield and greenfield land.
An ecological appraisal states: “There are only a few trees within the site boundary which are located along the southern boundary of the site including Norway Maple and Swedish Whitebeam.

“One high quality English Oak is located on the northern boundary.
“The site provides very little opportunities for birds. The woodland and hedgerows along the site boundaries do provide nesting opportunities, although no nests were recorded.”
The application will now be examined by planning officers, who will give a recommendation to councillors to approve or reject the development.
