‘I can't think of any medical reasons for not wearing a face shield of some kind’, a reader letter

People are walking about in shops with no masks on saying they are exempt from wearing them for medical reasons, but for the life of me I can't think of any medical reasons for not wearing one though, as I said, I am willing to listen to any reasons.
The way I look at it is if you use the ‘medical’ reason for not wearing one you increase your chances of catching Covid-19.

I was watching a post on social media about someone in a shop not wearing a mask and telling staff he was exempt for medical reasons. After rowing with security staff and saying that he did not have to tell them what the medical reason was in the end he told them it was because he suffered from ‘depression’.
I can't think how this would affect breathing. A full face visor would allow normal breathing with no air flow restrictions.
What I can't understand, [and what question I want to ask], is why are you putting yourselves in danger of catching Covid-19 which attacks the lungs and so affects the breathing further?
